Ipswich Waterfront

Hi. Yesterday was the Ipswich waterfront market and it went really well. It was the first time that they had held one there and it was a total success. It really made the area come alive and it was packed. At times it even reminded me of Camden lock markets. There was a nice atmosphere and the weather wasn't too bad either! I hope they do another one there. Ipswich sometimes has reputation of being abit grim but I think events like this can bring some much needed excitement and vibrancy to the town! I set up with Emmie, my friend who sells vintage clothing and accessories and we had a stall next to each other. It was also nice to meet Tracey, a fellow blogger, and my friend Bev and her daughters came to help out. Here is a photo of one of her daughters. She's wearing a Nelbarden vintage swimsuit and some 1950s heart sunglasses I bought from another stall. The ' hair' is actually a vintage swimhat which she took a shine too! Fun isn't it!

  1. Hi

I saw you stall yesterday at the vintage market in Ipswich but was too shy to say 'hello'. Will try and have more courage next time. As a customer at the market it was at times too busy as it was difficult to get to many of the stalls. But the whole area did seem to come alive and there was a great atmosphere. I have some more photos from yesterday on my blog.
    Til next time

See you in Southwold @ the end of the month - am at Vintage Soul too (sharing a stall with 3 of my sisters).

  4. Hey, nice to see you on Sunday. My mother was so chuffed with the picnic basket (as it had slots for the bottles of win - oh dear!) and she also has a vintage suitcase obsession now too.
Emmie will be chuffed that you mentioned her in the blog too!! Claire xx
